So, our editorial team took the time to gather more objective Oracle vs. SAP statistics and information in one easy spot. As you build out that comparative analysis, there’s no need to look farther than this aggregated information taken from media powerhouse Forbes, respected tech vendor Capterra, and even objective analysts from Gartner. For the sake of an apples-to-apples comparison, we are looking purely at Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and SAP S/4HANA Business One Professional.

ORACLE VS. SAP: GENERAL RANKING/RATINGS

According to Forbes (reviewed by staff advisor Kelly Main), both Oracle and SAP garner general ratings above a four (on a five-point scale). Forbes builds their ratings on a mix of editorial research and customer ratings that factor in cost, ease of use, and a handful of other unstructured data factors. According to Forbes, both offer in-depth financial options (accounts payable A/P & accounts receivable A/R), compliance possibilities, and multi-language abilities. And both are heavily investing in artificial intelligence (AI), advanced computing and machine learning (ML).

SAP stands out with language and multiple currency support and expansive HR functionality, but Oracle takes the crown with built in compliance and risk-management tools crafted for industries like utilities where those requirements can be highly specific.
